"Beautiful Chalet with Breathtaking Views"
Our party of 10 stayed in Shay Chalet in December 2009 and we absolutely loved it. The house is well apportioned with good sized bedrooms, a nice kitchen and plenty of common space to hang out together.
The chalet has some great amenities: there's a pool table downstairs, a hot tub on the deck that was great to soothe aching legs after a day's skiing, an absolutey enormous TV in the main living area and a large barbeque grill outdoors. The views from the main living room on a clear day are absolutely breathtaking. You can see the entire Breckenridge ski area in all its glory.
If you're going in winter you'll definitely want a 4x4 vehicle as the driveway is quite steep and extermely slippery when covered in snow. A 4x4 is also strongly recommended to get around generally. It's a good 10-15 minute drive to the town in winter because the roads to the chalet are fairly steep and twisty and your speed is restricted due to the snow on the ground.
The service from VisitBreck.com was very good. We knew we were going to be late for the designated check in time so we rang ahead and they put together a check in pack for us. They also offer a free shuttle bus and DVD rentals, although we did not use them. We used our hire car to get around (plenty of cheap parking near the lifts) and there's far too much to do in Breckenridge to waste time watching DVDs!
One snag is that we couldn't figure out how to get the garage working but it was not a big deal because we were driving all the time anyway.
All in all a wonderful holiday and we would definitely go back.

The main floor boasts a brand new flat screen TV, VCR, DVD, and stereo. Sit back in the large main floor sitting area (family room) or access the large wrap-around deck to see the sites. The private hot tub also sits on the deck with music from Bose speakers and views surround you.
Two separate living rooms provides space for up to 16 occupants who also appreciate some privacy. The enclosed, attached garage allows for car and 'mountain toy storage' (skis, snowshoes, sleds, bikes, you name it).
The full kitchen has all the necessary tools to make gourmet meals and has a separate sitting/eating area and sun room with a ten person wood table. Additional dining seating is also next to the kitchen on the eight-person wood table. The main floor sleeps six with a king, two twins and a queen sofa sleeper. A full bath is also on this level. The top floor has a loft with an overview of the main level and views from the wall of windows.
The lower level of this wonderful home offers a family room with TV and DVD, stereo, sofa sleeper, full bathroom, one queen private room, and one double bunkbed private room with TV and DVD. The lower level alone sleeps eight. Take the stairway up to the main level and enjoy the wall of windows that look at Breckenridge Mountain, Main Street, and Ten Mile Range.
